Centenary of National Independence Commemorative Medal 1830-1930, established by royal decree on 20 July 1930 to mark the 100th anniversary of Belgian independence and was awarded to serving members of the Belgian Armed Forces, veterans, and civil servants. Eligible recipients included those who had served honourably for twenty years or more before 1 January 1931 and were qualified for the Civic Decoration for long service, the Military Cross, or the Military Decoration.

32mm wide by 30mm high silvered bronze octagon, surmounted by a crown for a total height of 41mm. The obverse featured left-facing profiles of Belgian kings Leopold I, Leopold II, and Albert I. The reverse displayed the years “1830” and “1930” in relief on two slightly offset rows, superimposed over oak and laurel leaves, suspended by a ring through a suspension loop from a 38mm wide white silk moiré ribbon, adorned with 3mm wide edge stripes in the national colours of Belgium.
