Durban Regiment (1961–c.2022 Pattern) cap badge, worn by members of the South African Motorised Infantry Regiment following its reformation in 1961 within the Citizen Force of the South African Army. The Durban Regiment, based in KwaZulu-Natal, carried forward the traditions of earlier regional volunteer units and saw service through the apartheid era and into the modern South African National Defence Force (SANDF).
This die-struck bimetal (brass and chromed base metal) badge features the regiment’s eagle with spread wings on a sunburst design, surmounting a scroll reading “Pugna Celeriter”. The reverse is fitted with two-threaded fittings for secure attachment to the service cap or beret.
