Original French 65mm Mle 1906 Mountain Gun brass shell case, sold as an empty inert display piece. The Canon de 65 Mle 1906 was a light mountain gun designed for rapid deployment by pack transport, widely used by French and Allied forces during the First World War and later conflicts.
This example is of drawn brass construction, retaining its correct proportions with a straight wall and slightly flared mouth characteristic of the Mle 1906 pattern.
