Imperial German Seitengewehr 98/05 Butcher Bayonet, made for the commonly used Mauser Gewehr 1898 rifle, marked on the spine with the monogram of Wilhelm II of Prussia and dated “16” below. The ricasso is marked “Simson & Co, Suhl”. Marked with the usual acceptance mark on the top of the pommel
Overall condition: Acceptable, the scabbard and pommel are reasonably pitted, with some discolouration and rust patches on the blade. The wood grips are reasonably beaten up.
