British No. 36M Mk. 1 Mills Bomb, Dated 1941, dated on the base plate “41”. Marked on the body G & M (Glover & Main Ltd, Edmonton, London), base plate marked “ZAPDP” and lever “CSB”.

The No. 36M Mk. 1 grenade was introduced in 1917 and was designed to be waterproof for use in harsh environments, remaining in service in the British military until 1972. The No 36 grenade featured a traditional cast iron, grooved pineapple design. It had a central striker held by a closed-hand lever and secured by a pin. Upon detonation, the segmented body produced uniform fragments, a characteristic also found in several other grenade types.
