Anodised aluminium uniform button of the Queen’s Royal Lancers, produced for wear on service dress and ceremonial uniforms during the regiment’s post-1993 period. The Queen’s Royal Lancers were formed in 1993 by the amalgamation of the 16th/5th Queen’s Royal Lancers and the 17th/21st Lancers. Anodised (staybright) buttons, such as this, were adopted to provide a durable, low-maintenance finish suitable for modern service.
The button features the QRL cap badge design, incorporating the skull and crossed bones. The anodised finish gives a bright, consistent appearance typical of late-20th-century British Army uniform fittings. The reverse is fitted with a fixed shank for sewing to the uniform.
