Royal Marine Labour Corps (RMLC) (1917-1919 Pattern) Cap Badge, Restrike

This is a restrike cap badge of the Royal Marine Labour Corps, produced to the short-lived pattern worn between 1917 and 1919. Formed during the final years of the First World War, the RMLC provided essential labour and logistical support to the Royal Marines and wider naval operations. Its badge is one of the rarer patterns associated with the Corps, having been in use for only a brief period before the unit was disbanded at the war’s end.

The badge follows the original Royal Marine design closely, featuring the wreath and globe emblem associated with Royal Marines units, surmounted by a ship instead of a crown, which was the pattern authorised for the Labour Corps. This restrike displays crisp, well-defined striking, and the reverse is fitted with a standard hook slider fixing for cap attachment.

Dimensions
Approx. 41mm x 38mm

Condition
Excellent, with clean detail and an even finish. The fitting on the reverse is intact and firmly attached, and the surface shows only minimal handling wear.
