Original Royal Military School of Music (RMSM) cap badge, of the 1953–2022 Pattern, worn by personnel of this prestigious institution responsible for training musicians of the British Army. Established in 1857 at Kneller Hall, Twickenham, the RMSM served as the heart of British military music for over a century and a half until its relocation and reorganisation in 2021.
The badge is die-struck in gilding metal, displaying the initials “RMSM” in running script surmounted by the Queen’s Crown (ERII). The reverse retains its original hook slider fitting.
