What types of infantry militaria are collected?

Infantry collecting covers cap badges, collar dogs, shoulder titles, belt plates, buttons, medals, and uniform items from line infantry regiments. The British Army's county regiment system (pre-1960s) created hundreds of distinct units, each with unique insignia and histories.

Why are disbanded regiment items more valuable?

Disbanded regiments have a finite supply of original items. Major amalgamations in 1958, 1966, and 2007 created many disbanded units. Collectors seek badges from these lost regiments to complete collections, driving prices higher than for current serving units.
