13th Middlesex (Queen’s Westminster) Volunteer Rifle Corps white metal uniform button produced to the 1880–1901 pattern, dating to the late Victorian period during the height of the British Volunteer Force. This British Army Volunteer Rifle Corps button displays the recognised insignia of the 13th Middlesex (Queen’s Westminster) VRC (later the 16th (County of London) Battalion, The London Regiment (Queen’s Westminsters)) in clear relief, incorporating the regiment’s distinctive Westminster Portcullis and title elements arranged in a formal and balanced composition typical of late 19th-century volunteer uniform buttons. The white metal construction is characteristic of Volunteer Force fittings of the period.

Buttons of this pattern were intended for wear on tunics and dress uniforms by members of the 13th Middlesex (Queen’s Westminster) Volunteer Rifle Corps and are collected as examples of Victorian British Army volunteer insignia, rifle corps militaria, and historic uniform components from the period immediately preceding the formation of the Territorial Force in 1908. The reverse is fitted with a traditional shank fitting for secure attachment.

Condition
Good overall condition, retaining most of its white metal finish with some surface wear. Relief detailing remains relatively sharp and defined, and the reverse shank is intact and secure. No damage, repairs, or alterations are evident.
