24th Lancers (1940-1944 Pattern) Broached Enamel Collar Badge

A finely made broached enamel collar badge of the 24th Lancers, worn between 1940 and 1944 by this short-lived British armoured regiment raised during the Second World War. Formed as part of the Royal Armoured Corps, the 24th Lancers served within the 8th Armoured Brigade and took part in the Normandy landings and subsequent fighting across North-West Europe before disbandment in late 1944.

This example features the regiment’s distinctive enamelled motif with crisp detailing and vibrant colouring, mounted on a brooch fitting rather than the more common lugs or slider—often associated with private-purchase or sweetheart-style versions worn unofficially by serving personnel or their families.
