Restrike cap badge or band badge of the 2nd Battalion, Duke of Wellington’s Regiment (The West Riding). The badge follows the long-established regimental design incorporating the Indian elephant at the centre, and the battle honour “HINDOOSTAN” in the surrounding circlet, with the title “2ND BN, THE DUKE OF WELLINGTON’S REGT”. Surmounted by a crown in keeping with the original late Victorian pattern.
Manufactured in gilding metal, this restrike example is die-struck with clear detail throughout. It has been produced for display, re-enactment, or collection, closely replicating the appearance of the original pattern. The reverse is fitted with a modern hook slider for cap or pouch attachment.

Condition
Excellent, with sharp detail and a clean brass finish. The lugs are intact and firmly fixed, and the badge shows only minimal handling wear.
