52nd (Oxfordshire) Regiment of Foot Glengarry Cap Badge – Restrike. Reproduction of the regimental insignia worn by the 52nd (Oxfordshire) Regiment of Foot, a distinguished British light infantry regiment that served from 1755 until the Childers Reforms of 1881. The regiment became renowned for its service during the Napoleonic Wars, particularly in the Peninsular War and at the Battle of Waterloo in 1815, where it formed part of the British Army’s light infantry forces.
The badge represents the historic insignia associated with the 52nd Regiment of Foot and its light infantry traditions. Glengarry badges were worn on the front of the Scottish-style Glengarry headdress and served as a visible marker of regimental identity. This restrike reproduces an earlier pattern of the regiment’s insignia and is suitable for collectors of British line infantry badges, Napoleonic-era regimental history and Victorian military headdress insignia. It should be distinguished from an original period-issued example.
