9th/12th Royal Lancers (Prince of Wales’s) cap badge, produced in bimetal. This British Army cavalry cap badge displays the recognised 9th/12th Royal Lancers insignia in crisp relief, incorporating the regiment’s distinctive crossed lances, Prince of Wales’s feathers and scroll reading “IX-XII”, summounted by the Queen’s crown.
Introduced following the amalgamation of the 9th Queen’s Royal Lancers and the 12th Royal Lancers in 1960, this restrike cap badge reflects the regiment’s armoured cavalry role during the Cold War era.
