An original Air Force Department Constabulary (AFDC) cap badge, of the 1964–1971 Pattern, worn by members of the civil police force responsible for protecting Royal Air Force establishments and property in the United Kingdom during the mid-20th century. The AFDC succeeded the Air Ministry Constabulary in 1964 and was later amalgamated into the Ministry of Defence Police in 1971.

This example is a chrome-plated badge design displaying the Queen’s Crown (ERII) above a circular band inscribed “AIR FORCE DEPARTMENT CONSTABULARY”. The badge retains its original slider fitting to the reverse for attachment to the peaked cap.
