Belgian Order of the Crown, Knight’s Cross Class, awarded for distinguished service to the state, civil merit, or notable contributions in the fields of industry, trade, and humanitarian activity. Instituted in 1897 by King Leopold II, the Order of the Crown is one of Belgium’s most significant national honours, awarded in both military and civil divisions across several grades.

This example is a Knight’s Cross, featuring a five-armed white enamel Maltese-style cross with a central medallion bearing the Belgian crown within a blue enamel plaque. The reverse medallion carries the crowned monogram of Leopold II. The cross is surmounted by a silver-plate and enamel wreath suspension
