East Surrey Regiment silver sweetheart brooch, a piece of jewellery worn by loved ones of serving soldiers during the early 20th century. Sweetheart brooches were popular keepsakes during the First World War and interwar period, often given by soldiers to wives and mothers

This finely hand-engraved brooch features the East Surrey Regiment cap badge design, including the regimental castle and the scroll with “East Surrey” beneath in rose gold-plate, all within a silver wreath. Stamped with “sterling” on the reverse, it is fitted with a pin and clasp on the reverse for wear on a lapel, blouse, or dress.
