Matching pair of officers’ collar badges for the Essex Regiment, in the post-1954 pattern. These badges feature the Imperial French Eagle, representative of the French 62nd Regiment of the line captured in the Battle of Salamanca.
Crafted in gilding metal, these badges were worn in pairs on officers’ service dress tunics. This later pattern reflects insignia used during the final years of the regiment’s independent identity, before the formation of the East Anglian Brigade in 1959.
Condition: Good, some wear to the highlights.
Dimensions (each): approx. 25mm x 21mm
