An original brass shoulder title featuring the iconic Light Infantry bugle, used widely across British Light Infantry regiments from approximately 1884 through the end of the First World War. This stylised bugle horn, without letters or scrolls, was worn in combination with Light Infantry regimental shoulder titles such as:
- Somerset Light Infantry
- Highland Light Infantry (HLI)
- Duke of Cornwall Light Infantry (DCLI)
- Oxfordshire Light Infantry, later the Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire Light Infantry (aka Oxs and Bucks)
- Durham Light Infantry (DLI)
- King’s Shropshire Light Infantry (KSLI)
- King’s Own Yorkshire Light Infantry (KOYLI)
As well as by territorial battalions of the same aforementioned regiments
Typically worn on the shoulder straps of service dress, this bugle was a common pattern before moving to one-piece brass shoulder titles from the early 20th century.
Condition: Good to very good, with age-toned patina and light service wear. Original fixing lugs are intact unless stated otherwise.
Dimensions: approx. 33mm x 30mm
