Original Highland Light Infantry (HLI) officer’s service dress bronze collar badge, dating to the 1902–1953 pattern period. This badge design was worn by officers of the regiment throughout the Edwardian, First World War, and early post-war eras, symbolising one of Scotland’s most distinguished infantry units.
The badge features the regiment’s distinctive bugle horn with the monogram “HLI”, surmounted by the King’s (Tudor) crown, and set upon the saltire of St. Andrew, emblematic of the regiment’s Scottish identity. Cast in rich bronze for officers’ service dress, the reverse retains its original copper loops.
The Highland Light Infantry served with great distinction during the First and Second World Wars, earning numerous battle honours across France, Flanders, North Africa, and Italy.
