Inert British 35mm Oerlikon practice round, manufactured under licence/contract by BMARC (British Manufacture and Research Company) and clearly date-stamped 1984. Produced as a practice/training projectile for the 35×228 mm Oerlikon family of anti-aircraft cannon, this example comprises a steel case and inert projectile reproducing the external form of a service round for drill, loading practice and display use. Base/headstamp shows manufacturer marking and the 1984 date.
Dimensions
Calibre/projectile diameter: approx. 35 mm (1.38 in)
Case length: approx. 228 mm (9.0 in) — standard 35×228 case length.
Overall length (round): approx. 392 mm (15.5 in)
Condition
Very good. The projectile is probably a reproduction lathed from solid steel. The round is permanently inert — no primer, propellant or explosive components remain. The case and projectile are in good original condition for a late-20th-century training round. The steel case retains factory finish with light surface wear and handling marks; headstamp is legible and clearly dated. The item has been demilitarised and is supplied for display/educational purposes only.
