A Queen’s Crown period officer’s service dress (OSD) cap badge for a Jewish Chaplain of the Royal Army Chaplains Department, representing the specialist branch responsible for spiritual support to Jewish personnel within the British Army. Introduced after the accession of Queen Elizabeth II in 1953, this pattern reflects the post-war period when the RAChD continued to expand its denominational representation. The badge features the Star of David prominently at the centre, surrounded by a laurel wreath and surmounted by the Queen’s Crown, symbolising both faith and service under the Crown. Crafted in blackened brass with well-defined detail, it is fitted to the reverse with blade fittings for attachment to the cap.

Dimensions
Approx. 46mm x 33mm

Condition
Excellent with crisp, sharp detail throughout. The metal retains an attractive finish with only minor wear from age and handling. The lugs to the reverse are intact and secure.
