Metropolitan Police enamel cap badge from the reign of Queen Elizabeth II (ERII). This regulation badge would have been worn on the peaked caps of Metropolitan Police officers during the second half of the 20th century. The badge consists of a chrome-plated eight-pointed starburst, bearing a blue enamel circlet inscribed Metropolitan Police, surmounted by the Crown of Elizabeth II. At the centre sits the raised, silvered “ERII” monogram. Fitted to the reverse is the original east-west-eyed lug fixings for cap attachment.
