North Staffordshire Regiment (The Prince of Wales’s) original collar badge, 1901–1959 pattern. The design incorporates the Prince of Wales’s plumes above a scroll inscribed Ich Dien, set over the Stafford Knot. This pattern was introduced following the change from the previous design, remaining in use until the regiment’s amalgamation in 1959 into the Staffordshire Regiment. Struck in bimetal for the service dress of other ranks, these badges were worn in pairs on the tunic collars. Reverse fitted with lugs for attachment.
