A scarce and original Victorian-era collar badge of the Northamptonshire Regiment, worn between 1881 and 1901, during the reign of Queen Victoria. This pattern was introduced following the Childers Reforms, which amalgamated the 48th and 58th Regiments of Foot into the newly formed Northamptonshire Regiment. Struck in brass, the badge features a St. George’s Cross within a circlet which reads “Northamptonshire”, surrounded by the laurel wreath and surmounted by the Victorian Crown. This design was worn as a collar badge by other ranks on the service dress and walking-out uniforms throughout the late 19th century.

The reverse retains its original brass lugs, correctly positioned for collar mounting.

Condition: Good, fairly worn
