Norwegian AG3 Type 2 black bayonet, German-made, identified by its distinctive plum-coloured parkerised blade and absence of visible manufacturer markings. Designed for use with the Norwegian AG3 service rifle, the Norwegian version of the Heckler & Koch G3 7.62mm NATO rifle, this bayonet represents an interesting example of Cold War-era Norwegian military equipment and European NATO small-arms accessories.

The bayonet has a substantial single-edged blade with a clipped and pointed profile, retaining the distinctive plum-coloured parkerised treatment associated with the German-made examples. The hilt is fitted with a black ribbed synthetic grip providing a secure handhold, together with a robust steel crossguard incorporating the rifle attachment arrangement. The pommel incorporates the characteristic bayonet mounting mechanism, while the overall construction reflects the utilitarian design of post-war military bayonets intended for service with the AG3 rifle.

Complete with its black plastic scabbard and associated green webbing frog, this is a particularly attractive example for collectors of Norwegian militaria, AG3 bayonets, Heckler & Koch G3 accessories, NATO military equipment, Scandinavian militaria and Cold War edged weapons. The combination of the German-made unmarked bayonet, distinctive plum-coloured blade and Norwegian-pattern carrying equipment makes it an interesting piece for collections covering post-war European military equipment.

The Norwegian AG3 remained in Norwegian military service for several decades, making its associated bayonets an important part of Norwegian small-arms collecting. The example would complement a collection of Norwegian Armed Forces equipment, NATO weapons and Cold War militaria.

Dimensions: Approx. 310mm overall; blade approx. 165mm.

Condition: Excellent, with expected age-related wear. The plum-coloured parkerised blade remains clearly visible. The black synthetic grip and scabbard are complete, with the associated green webbing frog.
