Rifle Brigade (The Prince Consort’s Own) glengarry cap badge, restrike example of the pattern worn by this distinguished rifle regiment of the British Army. This badge features the regiment’s traditional device in sharp relief, incorporating a crowned Maltese cross with battle honours to the arms, a central strung bugle horn, and surrounding wreath elements, all surmounted by a crown and executed in a darkened or blackened finish characteristic of rifle regiment insignia.
The bugle horn is the long-established emblem of light infantry and rifle regiments, symbolising skirmishing and rapid manoeuvre, while the Maltese cross form reflects honours and traditions accumulated over the regiment’s long service.
