Staffordshire Regiment (Prince of Wales’s) cap badge produced as a restrike of the pattern worn between 1959 and 2007 by the Staffordshire Regiment (Prince of Wales’s) of the British Army. This British Army infantry cap badge displays the recognised insignia of the regiment in clear relief, incorporating the Stafford knot as the central device, surmounted by the Prince of Wales’s feathers issuing from a coronet with the motto “Ich Dien.”
The design reflects the regiment’s origins following the amalgamation of the South Staffordshire Regiment and the North Staffordshire Regiment (Prince of Wales’s) in 1959. The Stafford knot represents the historic county emblem of Staffordshire, while the Prince of Wales’s feathers acknowledge the regiment’s royal association. The badge remained in use throughout the regiment’s service until its amalgamation into the Mercian Regiment in 2007.
Manufactured in bimetal (brass and white metal) consistent with service dress wear, this restrike example provides a sharply defined representation of the traditional regimental pattern.
