Royal Armoured Corps (RAC) cap badge produced as a restrike of the 1st Type 1939–1941 pattern worn during the early years of the Second World War. This British Army armoured corps cap badge displays the recognised Royal Armoured Corps insignia in clear relief, incorporating the Tudor Crown above the laurel wreath and central “RAC” initials for Royal Armoured Corps, arranged in a formal and balanced composition characteristic of early wartime headdress insignia. The design reflects the formation of the RAC in 1939 and its rapid expansion during the initial campaigns of the Second World War.
Manufactured in a brass finish consistent with early WW2 service dress wear, this restrike example offers a sharply defined representation of the original first type pattern. Royal Armoured Corps 1939–1941 cap badges are collected as examples of Second World War British Army militaria, early RAC insignia, and wartime regimental uniform hardware. The reverse is fitted with standard hook slider fittings for secure attachment to a service dress cap or beret.
