Royal Armoured Corps (RAC) open-top, large pattern brass shoulder title, worn by members of the Corps from its formation in 1939 through the post-war period. The badge features the bold “RAC” initials in separate open brass lettering, representing the unification of Britain’s cavalry and tank units into a single armoured branch.
This large pattern example was typically worn on the Service Dress and Battledress uniforms of both wartime and early Cold War personnel. The open-top design reflects the early manufacture style used by numerous regiments within the Corps.
