Royal Army Ordnance Corps (RAOC) anodised button (1953–1993 pattern), 25mm example of British Army uniform insignia associated with the Royal Army Ordnance Corps. This pattern dates from the accession of Elizabeth II in 1953 through to the corps’ amalgamation in 1993.

The button design features the corps insignia in relief beneath the Queen’s crown, incorporating the traditional ordnance device reflecting the RAOC’s long-established role within British military logistics and supply. The anodised aluminium finish, commonly referred to as “staybrite”, provides a bright appearance while reducing the need for regular polishing and maintenance compared with earlier brass examples.

Buttons of this type were worn on service dress and other uniform garments by personnel of the Royal Army Ordnance Corps, serving both a practical fastening function and as a visible indicator of corps affiliation. The 25mm size corresponds to use on tunics and outer garments where larger buttons were required.

The Royal Army Ordnance Corps was responsible for the supply, storage, inspection, and distribution of military equipment, weapons, ammunition, vehicles, and general stores across the British Army. In 1993, its functions became part of the newly formed Royal Logistic Corps.

Manufactured in anodised metal with a shank fitting to the reverse, this example represents a durable and well-defined piece of modern British military insignia suitable for display or collection.
