Formed in 1942, the Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers became responsible for the maintenance, repair, and recovery of military equipment across the British Army. The King’s Crown pattern places this example within the reign of King George VI, prior to the transition to the Queen’s Crown in 1953.
