This finely made officer’s quality badge is constructed in fire-gilt and silver plate, displaying the Royal Cypher “EIIR” within a Garter bearing the motto “Honi Soit Qui Mal Y Pense”, encircled by a laurel wreath and surmounted by the Queen’s Crown. The regimental title “Royal Engineers” is inscribed on a scroll below. The reverse retains the correct two lug fittings.
