Royal Fusiliers enamel lapel badge, incorporating the regimental cap badge design in gilt metal and enamel. The Royal Fusiliers (City of London Regiment) was a historic British Army infantry regiment raised in 1685, with a long record of service spanning numerous campaigns and conflicts. The regiment served extensively during both World Wars before becoming part of the Royal Regiment of Fusiliers in 1968.
The badge reproduces the distinctive Royal Fusiliers insignia in a smaller format suitable for wear on civilian clothing. The gilt detailing provides contrast with the coloured enamel, while the clutch pin fitting on the reverse allows the badge to be secured to a lapel or similar garment. It is of interest to collectors of British regimental insignia, enamel military lapel badges and Royal Fusiliers memorabilia.
