Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers (Pre-1922 Pattern) Cap Badge, Original

An original example of the pre-1922 cap badge of the Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers, worn during the Edwardian and First World War periods.
Struck in bimetal, this pattern features the flaming grenade design – a hallmark of fusilier regiments – with a detailed castle motif to the centre, with the flag on the left of the flag pole, representing Enniskillen Castle, and the title scroll “Inniskilling” below. This badge was introduced in the late Victorian era and remained in use until the regiment’s amalgamation in 1968, though this specific variant with the flag to the left is from the earlier pre-partition era, before 1922.

The reverse retains the original slider fitting, typical of Great War manufacture. The Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers served in both World Wars and numerous colonial campaigns, and this pattern would have been worn in key theatres including Gallipoli, the Western Front, and Mesopotamia during WWI.

Condition: Very Good – Good detail, light service wear and age patina with some small verdigris.
