Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers cap badge produced as a restrike of the pattern worn between 1934 and 1968 by the Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers of the British Army. This British Army fusilier cap badge displays the recognised insignia of the regiment in clear relief, incorporating the distinctive flaming grenade device with a central castle motif and scroll bearing the title “Inniskilling.” The design reflects the regiment’s historic origins and strong association with Enniskillen in County Fermanagh.
The flaming grenade emblem is characteristic of fusilier regiments of the British Army and forms a prominent element of the regiment’s headdress insignia. The composition remained in use throughout the later inter-war period, the Second World War, and into the post-war years until the regiment’s amalgamation in 1968 to form the Royal Irish Rangers.
Manufactured in bimetal (brass and white metal) consistent with service dress wear, this restrike example provides a sharply defined representation of the original mid-twentieth-century pattern. Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers cap badges are collected as examples of British Army fusilier militaria, Irish regimental insignia, and historic infantry uniform hardware.
