Royal Pioneer Corps beret cap badge of the 1953–1985 pattern, issued to personnel of this British Army corps responsible for light engineering, labour, and logistical support. This badge features the Corps’ traditional device in raised relief, incorporating a laurel wreath with a rifle, pickaxe and spade, surmounted by the Queen’s crown. Below is a scroll reading ” Labor omnia vincit”, all executed in brass suitable for wear on the khaki or dark beret of the Corps.
The Royal Pioneer Corps provided essential support in construction, transport, and battlefield labour, with personnel serving in a variety of theatres from post-war Europe to overseas deployments. Beret cap badges such as this served to identify corps affiliation and foster regimental pride among soldiers.
Manufactured in brass with a hook slider fitting for secure attachment to berets, this example provides an accurate representation of mid-twentieth century British Army uniform insignia. Royal Pioneer Corps badges are collected as examples of British Army corps memorabilia, uniform cap badges, and post-war military insignia.
