Royal Tank Regiment officer’s cap badge of the pattern worn from 1953 until 2022, following the accession of Queen Elizabeth II. This British Army armoured corps cap badge displays the recognised insignia of the Royal Tank Regiment in clear relief, featuring the First World War tank in profile above the regiment’s scroll bearing the motto “Fear Naught”, all within a wreath and surmounted by the Queen’s Crown, reflecting the pattern adopted during the reign of Queen Elizabeth II and used throughout the latter half of the twentieth century and into the early twenty-first century.
Manufactured in a frosted silver-plated finish consistent with officers’ service dress insignia, the badge provides a sharply defined representation of the regiment’s traditional emblem. The Royal Tank Regiment, the oldest tank unit in the world, traces its origins to the Heavy Branch of the Machine Gun Corps formed during the First World War, and its cap badges are collected as examples of British Army armoured warfare insignia and modern regimental uniform hardware. The reverse is fitted with standard lug fittings for secure attachment to a cap or beret.
