Reproduction of the US Model 1860 Light Cavalry Sabre, a sword widely issued to Union forces during the American Civil War.
It features a 34-inch steel blade, double-edged for the last 7 inches at the point, a three-bar brass hilt, and a faux leather-wrapped grip bound in twisted brass wire, faithfully replicating the style and form of the original. Marked on the ricasso “U.S. / ADK / 1862” on one side and “AMES MFG CO / CHICOPEE / MASS.” (Ames Manufacturing Company of Chicopee)
An excellent display piece or reenactment item, this sabre captures the iconic look of Union cavalry arms during the mid-19th century.
Condition: As new, possibly some dark spots
