Original South African Regiment “Botha” blackened brass cap badge, worn between 1935 and 1962. The regiment was raised in 1934 as part of the expansion of the South African Army, commemorating General Louis Botha, the first Prime Minister of the Union of South Africa and a key figure in the nation’s early military history.

The badge is struck in blackened brass and features a side profile of General Botha in the circular plaque with the bilingual scrolls “Voorwaarts / Forwards” positioned north and south, all within a wreathed 5-point star. The reverse is fitted with east-west-eyed loop fittings for attachment to the service cap.
