South Wales Borderers / Lincolnshire Regiment collar badges, 1898–1948 pattern for the Lincolnshire Regiment and from 1898-1959 for the South Wales Borderers. Each badge features the regiment’s male sphinx emblem over the battle honour Egypt. This design was worn on service dress tunics from the late Victorian era through both World Wars, until the regiment’s redesignation in 1948 as the Royal Lincolnshire Regiment, and when the South Wales Borderers amalgamated into the Royal Regiment of Wales. Struck in white metal for other ranks, these collar badges were worn in facing pairs, as offered here. Both retain their original lugs on the reverse.

Condition
Very good. Sharp detail to the sphinx, honour scroll, and regimental title. The white metal finish shows an even age patina. Reverse lugs are intact and functional on both badges.
