Swiss Model 1852 Trooper’s Light Cavalry Sabre, manufactured by F. Hörster of Solingen, one of the most respected 19th-century German blade makers. This fine cavalry sabre represents the standard edged weapon issued to Swiss mounted troops in the mid to late 19th century.
The sword features a curved, single-edged blade with a broad fuller extending for most of its length, characteristic of continental light cavalry designs of the period. The brass three-bar guard provides excellent hand protection and is paired with a leather-covered wooden grip, secured by twisted brass wire binding. Complete with its original steel scabbard, fitted with dual suspension rings.
The ricasso is clearly stamped “F. HÖRSTER” on one side and “SOLINGEN”, denoting its German manufacture under Swiss contract, as well as the inspector marked “Crowned AA (Auszüger Armatur of Bern)” and number “787” in the fuller.

Condition
Very good. The blade retains a clean, bright finish with only light patina and minor marks from age. Guard and grip remain solid and well-fitted. The scabbard shows light wear and aged tone to the steel.
