Tayside Police (Scotland) embroidered cloth patch, pre-2013 pattern, an original-style example of Scottish police uniform insignia associated with Tayside Police. The patch represents the former regional police force responsible for policing Dundee, Angus and Perth and Kinross prior to the creation of Police Scotland in 2013. The design is embroidered onto cloth and was intended for wear on police uniform.
Tayside Police was established in 1975 following the reorganisation of Scottish local government and policing, replacing the earlier Dundee City Police, Perth and Kinross Constabulary and Angus Constabulary arrangements. The force remained in existence until 1 April 2013, when Scotland’s eight regional police forces were replaced by the single Police Scotland service. Pre-2013 Tayside Police insignia is therefore of particular interest to collectors of Scottish police memorabilia, British law enforcement patches, police uniform insignia and modern Scottish history.
This embroidered cloth patch is suitable for collections covering Scottish police forces, regional constabularies, British police badges and law enforcement uniform insignia.
Dimensions
Approx. 130mm x 70mm.
