Established in 1958, the Medal for Impeccable Service was awarded to personnel who completed the prescribed period of service with an exemplary disciplinary record. The medal formed part of a three-class long-service award system recognising 10, 15, and 20 years of continuous and honourable service.
The 15 Years Impeccable Service Medal represented the first class of the award and was presented to members of organisations including the Soviet Armed Forces, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Soviet Union (MVD), and the Committee for State Security (KGB), depending on the issuing authority and period of award.
