British Victory Medal 1914-1919
Private Archie S Hughes, 4th Bn, Leicestershire Regiment (later Machine Gun Corps)
Entered service in France on the 20th of August, 1915, with the 4th Battalion, Leicestershire Regiment, serving in the Hohenzollern Redoubt and the Battle of Loos. The battalion, along with the rest of the 46th Division, was sent briefly to Egypt before returning to France. He was noted as being admitted to the 2nd General Hospital in 1916, age 20, in Le Havre, France. He later served in the MGC (service number 140926).
He was moved to the Reserve on the 8th of March 1919
