Private Charles Henry Prior, Coldstream Guards

Charles Henry Prior was born on the 23rd of July, 1898 and lived in Little Hadham, Hertfordshire.

He was attested on the 23rd of August 1916, although he wasn’t mobilised until the 20th of April 1918. He arrived in Boulogne, France on the 1st of November 1918 as part of the 1st Battalion, Coldstream Guards. He initially joined the base depot but rejoined the 1st Battalion, Coldstream Guards, on the 12th of November 1918, one day after the Armistice.

He returned home from France on the 5th of March, 1919 and later was demobilised on the 7th of November.

He died in 1971 in Bishop’s Stortford, Hertfordshire.

He is also entitled to the British War Medal
