Serjeant Percy Ottaway Bain Ney, 1/1st Sussex Yeomanry
Percy Ottaway Bain Ney was born on the 21st of February, 1892 in Rye, Sussex, England.
He initially served in the 1/1st Sussex Yeomanry in the Dardanelles campaign from the 7th of October 1915. He was evacuated to Egypt in February 1916 and served as part of the Suez Canal defences. While serving in the Suez Canal Defences, he was discharged from the Sussex Yeomanry on the 6th of April 1916, presumably due to illness, and was transferred to the Army Service Corps on the 24th of June 1916 (service number M2/226892)
He was discharged from service on the 12th of September 1917.
He is noted on one of his pension cards as being a Captain
