A finely detailed miniature faithfully replicating the design of the original Edwardian medal:

Form: Circular medal in silvered metal.

Obverse: Bare-headed profile of King Edward VII facing left with the legend “EDWARDVS VII REX IMPERATOR” — the imperial title confirming the Colonial Issue.

Reverse: The inscription “FOR LONG SERVICE IN THE VOLUNTEER FORCE” in four lines, surrounded by a laurel wreath tied at the base.
