West Mercia Police chrome and enamel helmet plate, Queen’s Crown pattern, as worn between 2009 and 2023 before the adoption of the King Charles III Crown design. The force, covering Herefordshire, Shropshire, and Worcestershire, was created in 1967 and remains one of the UK’s larger regional constabularies.
The badge is struck in chromed metal, featuring a laurel wreath around the centre, with an oval-shaped circlet inscribed West Mercia Police, surrounding the force crest, all surmounted by the Queen Elizabeth II Crown. These plates were worn on the traditional custodian helmet by constables and sergeants during the late Elizabethan era. Reverse fitted with a single pillar and bolt fixing for attachment.
