Officer’s cap badge for the Yorkshire Brigade, worn between 1958 and 1968 following the post-war infantry reorganisation. The Brigade brought together several historic Yorkshire regiments under a unified identity, and this badge reflects that transitional era of British Army insignia. It features the white rose of Yorkshire, crowned by the Queen’s Crown, with a scroll reading “YORKSHIRE” below. Officer-quality examples were produced to a higher standard in silver-plate and gilt.
The reverse is fitted with standard lugs for cap or beret attachment, typical of officer-pattern manufacture of the period.
Dimensions
Approx. 43mm x 31mm
Condition
Very good condition with sharp definition and a pleasing gilt finish showing only light storage wear. The lugs remain intact and firmly attached, with no cracks, bends or repairs.
